Congressional Men’s Health Caucus to Hold Briefing on Links Between Opioids and Depression, Anxiety in Men and Boys

Men’s Health Network in collaboration with the Congressional Men’s Health Caucus, Congressmen Markwayne Mullin (OK) and Donald Payne, Jr. (NJ) will hold the “Men’s and Boys’ Mental Health Issues: Gateways to Opioid and Drug Abuse?” briefing on Tuesday, January 30 at 2103 Rayburn House Office Building from 12:00 noon to 1:15 p.m. Anxiety, fear, delinquency, under-diagnosed depression, PTSD, suicide: All conditions that are associated with boys and men across the lifespan. What are the causes and solutions, and do these lead to drug and opioid abuse? These issues will be explored by key researchers and practitioners in this timely briefing. An overview of the latest research in mental health issues in men and boys will be featured, as well as the latest policy recommendations to improve equity in access to services.
