Chemotherapy and Patient Identity: An Ethnography of Male Cancer Patients

Not a MHN document – This ethnography explores the impact of chemotherapy on male identity through the use of patient interviews and treatment observation. The outcome of the study shows that patients experience both positive and negative identity changes, ranging from gaining the satisfaction of becoming a role model to the devastation of losing one’s sense of masculinity.
